I recently had the pleasure of working with Ross Warsing from ProgramInDesign to program the recurring billing / subscription section of MassageLibrary.com.

The goal was to provide the members of the Massage Technique Library with a way to manage their paid subscription status to community. Starting with the interface, we created a simple one page subscription management page to collect billing information and display subscription status. Nothing special there. After that we needed to be able to store, charge, modify and delete credit card and billing information through our new secure subscription page. We were able to accomplish this using Authorize.net’s ARB system. Using their system allow us the peace of knowing that all scheduled billing cycles would be charged and then recorded back to our system to be audited daily. Luckily for us hundreds of Massage Library customers were already stored in Authorize.net’s ARB system. Not so lucky for us, we had to manually audit each customer and enter in their Authorize.net ARB ID number into our system which resulted in both systems being tied together. In the end, with a little help a friend I was able to get the job done by 3 am. That was over a month ago. The system has been running smoothly since then.
